About
Ed Coleman is a recording artist, shaman, and healer with a passion to support others on their journeys of healing and discovering Self.
Ever since childhood, Ed has had a fascination with music and for sound, and has had an amazing gift mimicking different sounds with his voice. Born with exquisite sensitivity, he has a background playing clarinet, saxophone and guitar. Ed’s training included studying with the legendary saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. In his late 20’s he began playing an instrument called a MIDI wind controller, exploring synthesizers, designing his own expressive electronic sounds, and composing electronic music. His fascination and great love of electronic music has grown and blossomed from this nexus, as well as his background as an electrical engineer.
In September of 2009, Ed released his first album Hummingbird, an album about our relationships to some of the archetypical territories we carry within ourselves. Part of his shaman’s journey has been to map these territories of Self, in order to rediscover our human connections to wholeness. Ed composed the music on Hummingbird as an exploration of these relationships.
Several years ago, Ed experienced an extraordinary series of events, that led him to question, “Who am I?” including a series of explosive spontaneous psycho-spiritual awakenings, leading to what is known in some academic circles as a spiritual emergence/emergency. These experiences increased Ed’s level of compassion and understanding for people undergoing Kundalini awakening, and crises of psycho spiritual, transpersonal, transformational natures. They also fueled a deep desire to further heal his own emotional wounds and to empower others to transform themselves.
Ed’s background also includes an extensive spiritual and healer’s journey. He has traveled throughout the US, South America, Central America, and India to gain a deeper understanding of spiritual, energetic, and other healing modalities. He has studied with indigenous healers, shamans, elders , spiritual teachers, healers, musicians, artists, and people of all walks of life – all in order to gain a deeper understanding how to connect to our many sources of strength, love, joy and power within us.
In early 2009, Ed founded Sacred Vision, a company dedicated to spreading compassion and understanding throughout the world by facilitating experiential healing sessions, workshops, ceremonies, storytelling, music, laughter, to help people connect with their own inner sense of peace and joy.
Ed’s sincere Sacred Vision is that every living being find freedom from suffering, and live in joy, peace, gratitude, forgiveness, and celebration of this great mystery that we call creation.
